It was fun to watch.

Stream it in the comfort (and safety) of your home

Middle Aged Men in Lycra
You can now stream one of our most successful and beloved documentaries

We want to thank you for attending one of our cinema screenings in the past. Cinemas are now closed in all the countries we operate, with many events postponed or outright cancelled. This is a tough time for cinemas, filmmakers and ourselves.
We started Demand Film to help filmmakers get access to cinemas so their films had a chance to be enjoyed the way they envisioned their films to be seen, on the big screen. We will be ready to bring you some amazing documentaries once cinemas re-open.

In the meantime, we have made MAMIL (Middle Aged Men in Lycra) available to rent. We have created the coupon code "thankyou" that will give you 40% off the rental of the film. With cinemas currently closed, we are looking at ways to bring you value and entertainment until we can get back to our core business putting the best documentaries from around the globe on the big screen.

We really appreciate your support and look forward to emailing you about our new amazing documentaries once we get the all-clear that it is safe to gather together and the cinemas have re-opened.

Thank you again.
As a thank you for your patronage in the past we are offering you a:

Your opinion needed on changes to the mailing list #notices

Ron Vargo

Good morning BBC Bike Club,

As you seen in the last week that many of our members are organizing indoor cycling events and lots of interest in setting up "pain caves".  Currently we only have one mailing list but I am suggesting that we create a subgroup on the mailing list to accommodate indoor cycling.  You would be able to subscribe the the subgroup the same way you are subscribed to the main mailing list.  By making this change it would allow the main group to focus on outdoor rides and other club events and the subgroup would be dedicated to all the indoor riding events and conversations.

There should be no changes when this feature is added except that the main group will have a updated address and the old addresses to the group will still send to the main group.

If you could please reply to this message directly to my email address with your vote of:

Yes - I want a subgroup for indoor events
No - Leave the group as is

Thanks

-Ron

The BBC Discord server is here:

When you first join you are put into the text chat. To join ride audio, tap the menu icon in the upper left corner and select the Ride Audio voice channel.

It works amazingly well.

Where Are You on These Cycling Power Curves?

Ruben Medina

Hi BBC,

The Sufferfest site has been kind enough to give cyclists a peek at how they stack up to each other in terms of the Power they can generate. If you know the watts you are able to generate for 5 seconds, 1 minute and 5 minutes, and you also know your FTP then you can do a little math and find where you are on these curves. In Sufferfest you do a workout called 4DP Full Frontal that takes an hour and gives you all your data points, but you may have already used another app to get your numbers.

The graphs for Males 50+ and another for Females 50+ are attached. There are also All Ages, <30, and 30-50 but I did not want to clutter this up with too many graphs. You can find those here: FTP vs 4DP: The Staggering Difference in Accuracy Explained

You will need to do a little math with your 5 second, 1 minute and 5 minute numbers. Just divide each of those figures by your FTP and multiply by 100 to locate yourself on the X axis (horizontal) in each of the three curves. It is very possible that you may be in very different places on each curve unless you happen to be an all-arounder.

Have fun interpreting your profile and share any comments or questions you have.

Ruben

Crit challenge

Tom Craig

Hey all, if anyone is interested in a short/intense ride I have been doing the crit city races on Zwift. There is one tonight at 6:45. I won’t set it up as a meet up ( don’t know if you can for a race anyway) because it’s a race not a ride. I ride cat D and get my ass kicked regularly. Would love company if you are interested in a lung busting 1/2 hour or so. Let me know if you’re in. I’m Tom Craig BBC on Zwift.

Re: Free Sufferfest Training

Darryl Racki

Howdy,
For those new to computer training I should have mentioned to check the Sufferfest web site (or Zwift or any other training web site) for the equipment needed for computer-based training. For example, I needed a USB “dongle” to convert the ANT+ signals from my bike sensors into something my iMac and iPads could understand. If buying a dongle I highly recommend buying a 3 or 6 foot USB extension cable to get the dongle closer to your bike for better reception.
