OK.  Then I’d leave it as a free account and just not have years and years worth of archives.  I don’t think we need to ever look up information on the times for a ride that took place two years ago!  :)

Faster A & B style rides
For those looking for Mallorca to get in some good training and build on a solid winter
  • Should be training an average of 8-12 hours a week (or more) for the 8 week period leading into camp.
  • Prepare for some longer climbs ranging from 15-60 minutes.  Some good old fashioned “tempo” work and big gear intervals are good for this.
  • Should be completing 2-3 “harder” days a week as you prepare.  Harder does not mean “high intensity / max” but should mean some stronger aerobic training such as tempo and sweet spot training.

Endurance & Tour rides
For those looking to use the trip to build more fitness while touring the island
  • Should be training an average for 4 - 8 hours a week (or more) for the 8 week period leading into camp.
  • Prepare for some longer limbs ranging from 15-60 minutes.  Some good old fashioned “tempo” work and big gear intervals are good for this.
  • Should be completing 1-2 “harder” days a week as you prepare.  Harder does not mean “high intensity / max” but should mean some stronger aerobic training such as tempo and sweet spot training.

Jin and I just committed to the Triple Bypass.

Thank you to Dave Bergen who planted the seed for me back when I can barely stay with him and Nancy behind the tandem 😂

Dave will be in Keystone (which is along the route of the Triple Bypass)during the event and he has generously offered to meet  us during the week before the event and take us out on rides to get acclimated. Even better... he promised to include brewery tours at the end of the rides.  And I hear there are lots of breweries!

I am planning to look for a place near Dave’s and Nancy’s. If you would like to stay with your BBC buddies, I would be more than happy to include you. Please respond to this email ASAP if you would like to join us.  If you are going but will have your own accommodations,  then  I hope we’ll see you on the ride.
This event will coincide with a wine fest during the same weekend. This means rentals will be limited and price may increase. My goal is to get a booking latest at the end of January.

Once we know whose coming, we can talk about logistics.

Plane, train, car, bike...get there if you can.

    See you in Colorado!

Re: Guidance needed- smart trainer issues - ANT+

Ram Gummadi

Thanks all. Here is a combination of what worked

- upgraded firmware
- used an Ant+ long cable
- extended it to sit next to the trainer.

Bluetooth stopped working on the trainer but that did not stop me so good for now.

I’ll chek tomorrow on all the other interference and try to mitigate.

Thank you all again. Appreciate it.

Regards

ANT+ use 2400MHz to 2524MHz and if you look at the chart below it’s right in the wiFi range.

Try plugging in an ANT+ extender (see link below) to your laptop and putting the business end next to the trainer and Tacx will likely suggest this as well. I needed to do this back when I was using an Elite Drivo and am still using it with my Wahoo Kickr.

There could be some sort of interference for any number of reasons. I have not tried without the extender since I went to the Kickr and new laptop.

As I understand it some trainers may put out different signal strengths and some phones / tablets etc might have weaker antennas.

Hi all, My Tacx neo keeps disconnecting from Zwift on any device( laptop/iPad and even an iPhone) I’ll try to contact the tech guys on Monday. Any suggestions to make it work for the weekend. I already connected Ant for the controllable- the other two are Bluetooth
Thanks

Guidance needed- smart trainer issues - ANT+ extender

Mike McGehee (PBM)

Ram,

Is it the new Tacx Neo2 or the original version. I tried the original version of the Neo and returned it due to connection issues. It would sometimes connect and sometimes not to my phone and tablet and instantly lose connection even when the phone / tablet was right next to it.

As a shameless plug for Wahoo, I have not heard of as many connection issues.

Please don’t get me started on Wifi connections, while similar it is another topic altogether.

Regards,

Mike

Rob's point is a very valid one about keeping everything up to date. Another issue Zwift can have is connection problems when there are high numbers of Zwifters. With the Tour de Zwift happening now along with regular ride options that may be part of problem. Hope you get this figured out Ram.
