BBC kits

Anna Swiet

Happy 2019 Spring Everyone,

For those of you interested in ordering the current kit design, please follow the directions below.
FYI, there is some conversation about creating a new design with bright colors for the 2020 season (possibly)

There are no minimums that have to be met for the orders to be placed.  That means Verge will produce & ship your pieces irrespective of any other orders.
There is no 'closing date'.  You can order any time throughout the year, whenever you need a piece to be manufactured.
Kits are manufactured in our original colors black/red on white fabric, the proofs on the site are a different color just for drawing purposes

It takes @ 4 weeks for production and they will ship directly to you.

Here are the steps:

1 - use this link    https://shop.vergesport.com/start.aspx

2 - Log in  Either sign in as existing client (if you have used this site in the past) or create a new account

Do NOT check off the button for "Remember Me" It interferes with the next step

3 - Next page after logging in will have tabs on top of page, select TEAM STORES

4 - Find box : Password protected Team Store

            PW = BBC18 for men's items

                    BBCW18 for women's items

5 - select your choices, place order, pay and wait for delivery

Let me know if you have any questions
See you all on the road soon.

  • Stearns School Rd - Hutchins Rd to US 41* (pictured)
  • Everett Rd - St. Mary’s Rd to east of I-94 bridge*
  • St. Mary’s Rd - IL 60 to Everett Rd*
  • Butterfield Rd - IL 176 to US 45

Come out and ride.

There are certainly a lot of fast people in the group, but there are also slow folks (like me!) who will gladly ease up the pace so as to not drop a rider.

It’s a great group of people and you’ll have fun no matter how fast or slow you are.

Dear Tom,

My name is Brittany, and I’m the volunteer coordinator at Active Transportation Alliance.  As you may know, Fifth Third Bike the Drive is happening on Sunday, May 26th. This event is our largest fundraiser of the year and supports our work to make walking, biking and public transit safe & fun throughout Chicagoland.

In preparation, I’m recruiting volunteers to help out day of the event. We have a variety of volunteer positions both on bike and on foot, but we are especially looking for bike-savvy volunteers to act as ride marshals, as well as rest stop volunteers and course marshals. Volunteers get a free t-shirt and pancake breakfast! Also, groups of 15 or more who volunteer together are eligible to earn a $200 stipend towards your non-profit organization or a charitable organization of your choice.

Would members of Barrington Bicycle Club be interested in getting involved? Individual volunteers can register and find additional details at bikethedrive.org/volunteer. If your club would like to volunteer as a group, please reach out to me directly.

If you would prefer to ride Fifth Third Bike the Drive, you can find out more information at bikethedrive.org/register. Groups of 10 or more are eligible for discounted group pricing!

Feel free to reach out to me if you’d like any more information to pass along to your group about volunteering.

Cheers,

Brittany

Welcome back spring breakers!  Join us next Sunday:

Barrington Endurance Coaches Panel
Sunday, April 7th, 3 - 4:30 pm
Village Cycle Sport, Barrington

Guest Coaches include:

Steve Block
Steve completed his first triathlon in 1984 (yes, with toe-clips on the bike and in a Speedo) and has watched the sport grow from a few oddball races to world-wide events and inclusion in the Olympics. He has coached triathletes for over 15 years guiding them to successful finishes from sprint triathlons to Ironman-distance events including the Ironman Championships in Hawaii. Steve has been on staff for Multisports.com where he led training camps at multiple Ironman locations and VeloVacations as a guide for cycling camps in the Caribbean. While he's learned from and coached with world-class athletes, Steve's passion is working with busy professionals and helping them reach their athletic goals. An engineer by education, he understands the technology and physics around the sport - and why you can't buy speed or fitness (except through coaching, of course!). Steve resides in Barrington, Illinois and continues to compete in triathlons of all distances.

Jennifer Harrison
Jennifer has been a Triathlon coach for 20 years and coaches all levels of athletes from beginners to Olympic medalists.  Jennifer is the owner of JHC Triathlon coaching and not only coaches individual athletes, but the University of Illinois, Train Like a Mother and the Have Dreams Autistic Team.  She competes as an Elite Age group triathlete and has raced over 200 triathlons including Ironman Hawaii four times and has been an All-American every year since 1997, except for the year she had her twins.  Jennifer is passionate about helping each athlete reach their potential, remain injury free and get faster!

Coach Bob Mitera
Bob has been a certified coach since 2001 and specializes using data and analysis to determine the unique training curve of each athlete he works with.  He has coached Northwestern University Triathlon and Cycling Teams from 2002-2006 taking the team to a top 20 program in both sports.  In 2002-2005, Bob coached members of the US Naval Academy Triathlon Team with national championships in 2004 and 2005, two athletes turning pro.   Bob wrote the Olympic charter for St. Lucia and has experience working with Clydesdale and Athena athletes.  All of his athletes he has coached for Kona (14) or 70.3/ ITU Worlds (11) have PR'd.  Bob has coached 35 people to finishes in the Boston Marathon.

The panel will be moderated by BE Board Member, Greg Werner.  Friends and family invited!  Meet and greet with Steve, Jennifer and Bob and catch-up with your friends about your 2019 race schedules.  Mike Page will have Wahoo KICKR demos setup as well.  It would be great to have 100% participation!
Nicole
