Barrington Bicycle Club (BBC) is a road cycling club based in Barrington, Illinois. The club promotes the social, environmental and health benefits of cycling for riders of all abilities. The BBC supports public advocacy for the development of bicycle routes and road safety for cyclists.

Membership Process

Complete the waiver form at our website (http://www.barringtonbikeclub.org/) and return it to TCramer@wintrustmortgage.com. Once the signed form is received, an invitation to join the groups.io BBC group will be sent to you. Specific information about BBC activities is sent to the club via BBC-Bike group postings.

2018 Show and Go Rides

Monday C Ride

Meeting location: Lutheran Church at Hillside/Dundee Ave. (map)
Meeting time: Evening
Distance: 20-25 miles
Description: Ride designed for riders new to group riding. Moderate pace. The group stays together for entire ride-no drop.

Tuesday Hilly Ride

Meeting location: Lutheran Church at Hillside/Dundee Ave. (map)
Meeting time: Evening
Distance: 20-25 miles
Description: Ride designed to work on hill climbing skills

Wednesday/Thursday A/B Ride

Meeting Location: Lutheran Church at Hillside/Dundee Ave. (map) 
Meeting Time: Evening
Distance: 20-25 miles

Saturday A/B Ride

Meeting Location: Barrington High School (map)
Meeting Time: Morning
Distance: 35-40 miles

Sunday A/B Ride

Meeting Location: Barrington High School (map)
Meeting Time: Morning
Distance: 40+ miles.

Ride Descriptions

A: Aggressive with multiple accelerations, averaging 18-20 mph with long stretches between 20-25 mph
B: Medium pace with some accelerations, averaging 16-18 mph
C: Modest steady pace, averaging 15-17 mph
